Who we are
We are a group of Berkeley residents who are concerned about protecting the unique character and quality of life in the city of Berkeley. Berkeley is a very special place and our aim is to maintain the diversity that we all love about our city.
Our group is currently engaged in legal efforts to hold U.C. Berkeley accountable for a more than 11,000 student increase over the past several years, of which more than 8,000 are from outside California. These additional students have had a severe impact on our community and have forced out many long-term residents from our neighborhoods. We are also engaged in holding UC accountable for other proposed developments in and around the campus.
Mission
The mission of Save Berkeley’s Neighborhoods is to provide education and advocacy to improve the quality of life, protect the environment, and to encourage the city and UC to implement best planning practices.
